Problem

Mis-matched or out-of-date display cases with scratches, dings, dents or rust

Solution

PartsOne’s reskinning program gives your cases a facelift at a fraction of the cost of buying new cases. Reskinning makes your refrigerated display cases look like new again while making your investment last longer.

PartsOne sells exterior and interior metal parts in 8’ or 12’ kits, which include case parts such as splashguards, panels, bumpers, canopies, end panels for most major case brands. (Some interior case parts such as deck pans, wire racks, air baffles, air flues, retainers, shelving and light kits require an additional purchase. But installing those interior parts at the time of the reskinning will save on labor costs.)

PartsOne offers two options:

  1. Parts Only: Sold as reskinning kits, or
  2. Parts and Labor: Our turnkey reskinning solution includes all parts, labor, installation and project management

How Our Reskinning Turnkey Solutions Works

When you sign up for our Reskinning Retrofit Program, we utilize the following process:

  1. We define one test store; or, set number stores within a targeted region.
  2. We agree on a budget as well as a start date.
  3. We survey your stores using our PartsOne mobile survey app to consolidate requirements by store and type, defining the following inputs:
    1. Case type, department, OEM and model
    2. Case length and width
  4. We deliver a turnkey proposal for the defined store(s).
  5. We retrofit your display cases to provide a completely new look.
  6. You do nothing, except for focusing on your business.

Investment Results

Exterior reskinning programs typically cost 30-40% of a new case. A complete interior and exterior combined reskinning typically equates to 80% of the investment in a new case. Both options save you the additional expenses of removing and recycling existing cases as well as installing new ones.

As an example, a new case, on average, costs around $10,000. Installers, plumbers and electricians connect the display cases to their respective systems, which requires an additional $8,000 or more in labor costs. So, a new case costs $18,000 or more. In contrast, reskinning will cost around $3,000 for parts and labor. (Note: As the scale of a reskinning project increases the volume discounts bring the cost to reskin each unit down.)

An average case lasts 12-15 years. So, if you reskin a case twice during its lifespan, that will cost approximately $6,000 (2 x $3,000) versus $32,000 (2 x $16,000) for a replacement case.

In conclusion, reskinning improves your brand perception with a cleaner, fresher looking store. This typically yields a boost in top line sales while also increasing store traffic over time, which ultimately equates to an improved bottom line.
